About the Builder:
Roland Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, electronic equipment and software. It was founded by Ikutaro Kakehashi in Osaka on April 18, 1972. Known for hundreds of popular synthesizers, drum machines, and other instruments, Roland was one of the top names in professional music equipment in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They developed the guitar syntesizer in the mid '70 which was made prominent especially through Pat Metheny.

About the Guitar:
The Roland GR-300 and G-808 guitar combination was the original flagship of the early 1980s Roland guitar synthesizers. The G-808 was simply one of the best guitars available at the time, and sold with the GR-300, the finest guitar synthesizer system ever designed.
In 1977, through a joint capital investment between Roland Corporation and Fujigen, FUJI ROLAND CORP is established, based in Matsumoto. Together they developed the world's first guitar synthesizer (GR-500). The built also the G-808.
