About the Guitar:
The first solid body electric guitar done by Patrick James Eggle for many, many years. The project was to build 20 Lizard guitars. The body features a Franquette Walnut drop-top, over a Honduran mahogany body. The body is chambered and therefore the guitar weighs in at 3,4 kg (7lb 8oz). The set-neck is also from genuine Honduran mahogany and has a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and head-plate.Lizard and Dragonfly inlays are cut from solid shell and wood. Each of the 190 scales on our lizard are individually cut and inlayed. Because each scale is from a different piece of shell, they catch light at different angles, creating a shimmer effect.Pickups are hand scatter wound by Hayden Minett of Bulldog Pickups. They are slightly un-balanced by approximately 150 winds. The character is fat and resonant without being compressed.Unfortunately the run was not completed. Patrick only made three before having to abandon the project due the acoustics being in high demand. This is number 3.
