The Story Behind

About the Builder:

In 2000 Patrick James Eggle began a collaboration with Michael Stockwell to market a range of jazz guitars under the name PATRICK JAMES EGGLE and a total of fifty guitars were built. During the same period twenty PATRICK JAMES EGGLE “DISCUS” electric guitars were built. An article on the Discus appeared in the Guitarist magazine April 2003.

Patrick James Eggle made the Discus guitar as a tribute to Tony Zemaitis. The guitar features engraving by Danny O'Brien on all of the metal parts. The artwork was designed by John Goode of Marvell comics. The pick ups were made by Jim Rolph. The instruments have been inspired by the Zemaitis Disc front. Patrick build all those guitars in his U.K. workshop.

He moved to the USA in 2003 during which time he continued to build and sell a range of guitars under his name PATRICK JAMES EGGLE, in particular a range of acoustic guitars.

About the guitars:

Patrick James Eggle build only four bass guitars in his Discus series. Here are two of them, all extraordinary bass guitars in look and sound.

The first Patrick James Eggle Discuss bass guitar is an awesome hand built Discus bass by Patrick James Eggle with chambered Mahogany body so lightweight and superb acoustic tone, double handwound pickups with engraved pickup covers, handmade and engraved bridge, all engraving is by Danny O’Brien. The center disc features a running Buffalo herd. This is completed original engraved dogtags with corresponding serial number and Eagle engraving. Also, the full set of  original artwork signed by Patrick Eggle, John B.Goode and Danny O’Brien.

The second Patrick James Eggle Discuss bass guitar is an awesome hand built Discus bass by Patrick James Eggle with chambered Mahogany body so lightweight and superb acoustic tone, vintage sunburst finish, double handwound pickups, handmade and engraved bridge, all engraving is by Danny O’Brien. The center disc features a swooping Eagle, the engraved headstock inlay features an Eagle in flight after swooping to catch a snake, all very rock n roll and very artistic. This is completed original engraved dogtags with corresponding serial number and Eagle engraving. Also, the full set of  original artwork signed by Patrick Eggle, John B.Goode and Danny O’Brien.

This bass guitar is unique and it is the only one in the world (other than a left hand model built for Paul McCartney, direct mirror of this bass).
