The Story Behind

About the Guitar:

This is a custom LP style Kramer made for Billy Squier in 1986 in wonderfully aged Baby Blue finish. It features a maple neck-thru constuction. This guitar was made for Billy to his exact specs. Initially planned as an Artist model it never got off the ground.

Acording to Billy Squier:

- One-piece neck and body design was retained for enhanced sustain;
- Neck profile is a hybrid compiled from his favorite Les Pauls, Tele's and Strat's;
- Six were made in different colors: four are single pu, two are double pu configuration...assorted billiard-ball colors

This guitar designed by Kramer's Dennis Berardi and Billy Squier was hand-built and features a bound body, "Bowtie" inlays and a Kahler Tremolo. The guitar is equiped with a single P-90 pickup.

It was used by Billy on many albums and a few videos. Billy is also pictured with the guitar on the back cover of his album, "Enough Is Enough".

The guitar was also used by Godfrey Townsend. In 1986, Godfrey joined a band with drummer Roger Murdock, featuring bassist Laura McDonald (ex-wife of Ian McDonald from King Crimson & Foreigner). She was going with Billy Squier at the time and he was producing the band. He used this guitar for several years in the band.
