The Story Behind

About the Guitar:

This guitar was custom made for Danny Flowers, writer of Eric Clapton's hit "Tulsa Time". Danny was also the original guitarist with Don Williams band and is in-demand for numerous Nashville sessions and appearances. This is the very first Gold Top finished McInturff guitar and was handmade just for Danny Flowers.

Here is what Danny remembers of the guitar:

"This is my guitar. It is a Terry McInturff Taurus. It was made for me in 2000. I went to Terry's shop & picked out the wood for the body, the neck shape & all the details. It was the first gold top that Terry ever painted. It is chambered, has two Seymour Duncan pickups (don't remember which models). It does coil splitting, locking tuners, has a five way switch & is extremely versatile sound wise. There is no volume drop or loss of power when switching from double to single coil sounds. I have taken great care of it over the years & used it many times in the studio & for live performances. It was featured on my most recent CD "Tools for the Soul". I have used it in several performances at the Ryman & in clubs all over town. Used it on shows with Darrell Scott, Kevin Welch, Delbert McClinton, on & on. I am lovingly letting it go because of changes in my hands & the need for a neck shape that better suits my needs. If you should purchase it please take good care of her for me. Thanks, all the best, danny"
