The Story Behind

About the guitar:

This Rickenbacker bass belonged to Harry Spooner of the band Berlin Ritz. Harry Spooner is around in the music scene in England since the mid '60. He recorded with several bands from 1968 on. He had as band members musicians that later became involved in major acts such as Andy Parker (UFO). He had also the opportunity to play with Jack Bruce on several occasions. Even if Harry is a guitar player, he had this bass guitar he loaned to his group bass player Peter Taylor. On several gigs he gave it to Jack Bruce, who played it live.

Among other dates the 14 August 2004 Jack Bruce played at a festival with Harry Spooner. During the days of the festival from the 14 till the 22 August they were jaming around. On the 22 August the bass was finally signed by Jack Bruce.

Even without this history and as most of the Rickenbacker basses, this instrument plays wonderful. The fact that Jack Bruce played it makes it nevertheless special!
