The Story Behind

This is another weird story behind a guitar.

Completely hand build by Mr G. D. Philips this is a unique piece of art. ... here is some history ... In 1961 at the age of 19 Mr Philips was sent to El Rono, Oklahoma Federal Penitentiary. He was arrested for 127 counts of car theft. He was very wild and used to steal cars for the hell of it, usually ended up wrecking them. He got caught (finally) because a friend of his was arrested in California. He decided to go to the jail and bust him out. So he parked across from the jail and sat in his car drinking a bottle of wine ... he was working on his strategy. He drank over much and passed out. The police walked across the street and arrested him. He passed 3 ½ years in prison. During his stay in prison he build this guitar.

It is difficult to figure out how a guy could make something this good in prison in the 1960's. Look at the roses in the Lucite. And it sounds also good. Really cool!
