Mikaël Springer is a young guitar builder from France.
Just like many other luthiers, he started building electric guitars as a hobby, and didn't know at the beginning what will result from this passion. Over the years and instrument after instrument, the hobby became a true passion and maybe a vocation.
In early years, Mikaël built many replicas of well known brands for local musicians and friends, what gave him the opportunity to experiment with lots of traditional guitar building concepts and techniques. He took advantage out of these experiences and has now worked out his own concept and developed his own instruments.
That was the starting point of Springer Guitars.
Mikaël's commitment about guitar building is quite easy to subsume : « Building the best possible instrument for the player ». This includes, of course, functional and tonal aspects as well as ergonomics and aesthetics of the guitar. To achieve that goal, Mikaël looked at traditional instruments and tried to improve suboptimal features, always keeping in mind that not every modification of an existing concept might lead to its improvement. Mikaël uses to define his building philosophy as a modern approach of traditional guitar making.
Currently, Mikaël under the brand Springer Guitars offers two design shapes: the single cutaway called Seraph and the Infinity as double cutaway concept. Both instruments can be adapted to the player's needs and taste with lots of options you can choose from:
-
woods combinations
-
hardware types
-
pickups and electronic layout
-
colors and finishes
The Seraph design was the inspiration for two new models recently issued: The Halfbreed and the Seraph Hollow-body.
All his current models are available to demo in our showroom.
